Jay-Z was awarded yesterday (October 1) with a humanitarian award for his 2006 African water mission.
The rapper and the Untied Nations joined forces in 2006 raise funds and awareness to combat the problem of a lack of safe drinking water in many disadvantaged parts of the world including Africa.
According to Hello Magazine, Jay-Z received the award on Wednesday at a New York ceremony hosted by actor Michael Douglas.
Jay-Z is currently gearing up to release his eleventh solo album titled Blueprint 3 in December. Production on the project will be handled mostly by Kanye West.
